Reasons for the occurrence of soft film phenomenon in cutting sheets

Jul 10, 2023

It is known that the cutting piece is made of glass fiber and resin as the reinforced bonding material, which has the characteristics of high tensile strength, impact resistance and Flexural strength. But in the process of daily use, sometimes softening occurs. What is the reason for this?
Reasons for the occurrence of soft film phenomenon in cutting blades:
1. The furnace is discharged too quickly or the temperature difference is too large. Due to the fact that the cutting blade should have a certain cooling time period at the end of hardening and insulation to meet the uniform release of stress; At this point, if the discharge temperature is too high or the temperature difference changes too much, the cooling changes of the grinding wheel will not be synchronized, so the deformation of the grinding wheel will occur. Actually, it is also a manifestation of deformation.
2. Eliminating the problem of hardening humid atmosphere in hardening furnaces. All hardening furnaces, whether box furnaces or tunnel kilns, must consider intake and exhaust when designing the furnace. Due to the release of a large amount of exhaust gas (mainly ammonia and water vapor) during the hardening process, if these exhaust gases cannot be discharged in a timely manner, they will be re adsorbed by the pores during the cooling process, resulting in the grinding wheel smelling and softening.
3. Low hardening stability. Due to the dual influence of the environment and raw materials, the hardening temperature should be provided in a timely manner during seasonal changes or significant changes in temperature and humidity. High hardening stability refers to the fact that the hardening curve has been adjusted, but when the stability and happiness decrease, and the weather is dry and the hardening stability is not adjusted in a timely manner, it is also easy to cause cutting of soft pieces.
4. The hardening curve has a short time. This mainly refers to the short low-temperature drying time of the hardening curve and the excessively fast heating rate during the heating stage under specific conditions.
From the above introduction, we have learned about the reasons for the occurrence of soft films in cutting pieces. Therefore, we can strictly control the raw materials used based on the above reasons, make adjustments in a timely manner during periods where softening is prone to occur, and try to eliminate the influencing factors of soft films in cutting pieces as much as possible.
