Features of diamond materials
High hardness: Diamond is one of the hardest substances in nature, which makes diamond cutting wheels suitable for cutting materials with very high hardness, such as ceramics, glass fiber reinforced plastics, minerals, glass, etc. For example, in glass cutting, the diamond edge can easily scratch the glass surface and maintain sharpness. This is because its hardness is much higher than that of glass, which can effectively overcome the hardness of glass and cut precise shapes.
Good wear resistance: It has a long service life and can maintain the sharpness of the cutting edge for a long time, reducing the frequency of replacing the cutting wheel. This is particularly important for large-scale operations that require precision cutting in industrial production, such as large-scale glass panel cutting and manufacturing processes, which can ensure stable cutting quality and improve production efficiency.
Application: Suitable for cutting hard and brittle materials such as ceramics and glass, and widely used in cutting and processing of related products in industries such as electronic equipment and architectural decoration, such as screen glass cutting of mobile phones and tablets, and processing of glass door and window profiles for construction.
Features of high-speed steel materials
Good toughness: Relatively tough, it is not easy to have brittle fracture during the cutting process, especially when subjected to a certain impact force or uneven force, it can ensure the continuity of cutting. For example, when cutting some metal workpieces with irregular shapes and possible internal stress, high-speed steel cutting wheels can better adapt to this situation.
Moderate hardness: suitable for cutting low-hardness materials, such as aluminum, copper, etc. Although the hardness is not as good as superhard materials such as diamond, it can meet the cutting needs for relatively soft metal materials and the cost is relatively low.
Application: Commonly used for cutting soft metal materials and some production operations that do not require extremely high cutting accuracy and have a large cutting volume, such as cutting aluminum parts in the shells of some small electronic products, cutting and processing of small copper accessories, etc.
Characteristics of cemented carbide material
High hardness: It has very high hardness and can cut metal materials with higher hardness, such as steel and iron. When cutting steel, it can easily form cutting marks on the surface of the steel like diamond cutting glass.
Strong wear resistance: Even under the conditions of high-speed and long-term cutting of high-hardness metal materials, it can maintain the shape and sharpness of the cutting edge, which can effectively reduce edge wear and ensure cutting size accuracy and cutting efficiency.
Application: Mainly used in the metal processing industry, especially for cutting operations on steel materials with higher hardness, such as in the metal structural parts manufacturing, automobile parts manufacturing and other industries, for cutting steel, cutting iron pipes and other operations.
Resin material (for cutting wheel) features
Good elasticity: It has a certain elasticity, which can buffer the cutting force to a certain extent during the cutting process to prevent the cut material from being damaged due to excessive impact force. Especially when cutting some brittle materials or thin-walled materials, it can effectively reduce the cutting breakage rate.
Self-sharpening: During the cutting process, as the abrasive wears, the resin binder will gradually fall off, exposing new sharp abrasives, so that the cutting wheel always maintains a certain cutting ability, thereby improving the cutting time.
Application: Suitable for cutting difficult-to-cut materials such as alloy steel and stainless steel, especially in some application scenarios where the surface quality of the cut material needs to be protected, such as cutting some small stainless steel parts in precision machinery manufacturing, or cutting high-precision parts made of alloy steel. The cutting efficiency and surface accuracy after cutting are required to be high.
