Material related
If the cutting wheel is used to cut metal materials, such as steel, etc., due to the high heat and friction generated during the cutting process, it is necessary to select a lubricant with good extreme pressure performance and anti-wear performance. Cutting oil or grease containing extreme pressure additives (such as sulfur, phosphorus, etc.) may be more suitable, which can effectively reduce the friction between the cutting wheel and the cut material under high pressure, reduce wear, and improve cutting efficiency and the service life of the cutting wheel.
For cutting wheels that cut materials with high hardness but poor thermal conductivity such as stone and ceramics, the lubricant must not only have the function of lubrication and friction reduction, but also have certain cooling properties. Water-based lubricants may be a better choice. They can take away some heat during the cutting process to prevent the cutting wheel from being damaged due to overheating, and can also play a lubricating role.
If it is a cutting wheel that cuts some plastics or soft materials, choose a relatively mild lubricant that will not corrode or contaminate the material, such as some special plastic lubricants or light lubricants with low viscosity, to avoid adverse effects on the surface quality of the cutting material.
How the cutting wheel works
If it is a high-speed rotating cutting wheel, due to the high speed, a lot of heat is generated, and the lubricant is required to have good heat dissipation and stability at high speed. For example, when cutting metal at high speed, high-speed and stable lubrication performance can ensure that the cutting wheel can also maintain good lubrication at high speed and reduce wear. You can consider high-performance lubricants such as fully synthetic high-speed cutting oil.
For cutting wheels with low-speed cutting, more emphasis is placed on lubrication performance. You can choose grease with good lubricity or high-concentration emulsion to ensure that the friction between the cutting wheel and the material is minimized during the cutting process.
